SMS Communications

When you submit an application or register as a donor, you provide your phone number and consent to receive SMS messages from WaslZakatDMV. These messages are used exclusively to introduce you to your matched counterpart and to facilitate coordination of an in-person meeting.

Our SMS system uses a proxy phone number to relay messages between donors and recipients, protecting both parties' personal phone numbers from being exposed to one another.

You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. Standard message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies depending on coordination needs.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share information in the following limited circumstances:

Between matched parties: First names are shared between matched donors and recipients to facilitate coordination. Personal phone numbers are NOT shared — all communication is relayed through our proxy number.
Service providers: We use trusted third-party services (Twilio for SMS, Supabase for database, Resend for email) who are contractually obligated to protect your information.
Legal compliance: If required by law, court order, or to protect against fraud or harm.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted database storage, secure authentication, and access controls limited to authorized personnel. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
